Accumulation: "Nutrition Facts" Labels

I started this project not really sure what I wanted to accumulate. I started thinking about what was easy to accumulate that is hardly ever thought of. Nutritional Facts labels are highly ignored. The weird thing is that even a bottle of water has a nutrition label and it's the purest element on earth.

This is the final product. After I set up the strips around the toilet bowl, I spread the rest evenly on the floor.

This is a box I collected one day in September at work and I slapped a sign on the front of it, and left it at work in the break room for everyone to help contribute. It was there for 1 month.

This is the collection of labels at the end. I ended up accumulating 217 nutrition fact labels.

These are the strips of labels I made with clear tape to show streams of labels that the toilet is projecting out of its bowl.

This is the way the label strips looked as I hung the labels over the top of the bowl the way I wanted them.

I started spreading the labels evenly on the bathroom floor to show that the toilet has been projected these labels for quite a will and I also did not have anything else to do with them.

Just a close up on a couple of the labels.

The way I installed this installation I wanted it to look as though the toilet is throwing up sort of. Just like most people that have eating disorders. Eating disorders are no joke and I want people to call attention to what is actually in everything they eat and to make sure they stay in the range of servings.

On the Right Track/Steering Away from Potholes

This is a project I did for class to show the way I have had to learn to get somewhere in life. I had to be put on a path that would steer me away from troubles and disappointments that would overcome my dreams.

Ninja Tree & The Valley

The Master Tree: First I found the tree that stood out from all the others as if it was the leader of this tree kingdom.

Gathered up weeds that were growing wildly around campus. The weeds would play a great part in this construction because of the flexibility and toughness. I was able to tie the weeds into knots and tie them around the tree for a nice touch of nature. They will also show how nature sticks together and are all strong and compensates for one another by coming together.

I found a broken branch that was in the shape of a "V". It was interesting because of the natural shape and I wanting to show that even though it was broken that it can still be as beautiful as the living branches hanging in the air.

I found some rocks nearby that were by a sewage drain, sort of gross, but I transported them over to show a little more of how nature comes together. It helped hold the branch up in front of the tree to show the valley of trees image.

The trees are all hanging around in the valley. Well protected by their ninja tree.
